Lost Premiere Date Included in ABC Midseason Schedule

ABC’s upcoming midseason schedule will probably look like a giant gift to some…a lump of coal to others.
The good news? The Oceanic 6 will make their return and the Sacred Heart crew (a.k.a. Scrubs) will have their network debut. The bad news? Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money will both be given (temporary? permanent?) vacations.

Casting Corner: Lost, Chuck, Two and a Half Men and More
Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:
Two and a Half Men: Now that everyone’s forgotten about his star-studded Bobby, director Emilio Estevez will soon be returning to his acting roots. In an upcoming episode of the CBS comedy, Emilio will play a drinking buddy of Charlie’s. (For those who don’t already know, Sheen is Estevez’s younger brother in real-life.) This cameo comes three years after their father, Martin Sheen, guested as Rose’s father.

Wednesday Ratings: Viewers Suffering from Post-Election Crash
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, America’s Next Top Model, Dancing With The Stars, House, Ratings,
Voters tired of political ads - and television in general - took a rest from the boob tube last night. This meant lower numbers for most programs and a disappointing season debut for Law & Order. (The show had its worst Wednesday ever.) Thanks to a rare mid-week airing of DWTS, ABC was tops with the viewers yesterday. Meanwhile, the Alphabet network was also tied with FOX in the demos.
8pm
- Dancing with the Stars (15.6 million, 3.2/9 in 18-49) was the most-watched program last night.
- Bones (3.2/9) returned to 10.1 million.
- The New Adventures of Old Christine (6.6 million, 1.9/5) fell by 1 million; Gary Unmarried (6.4 million, 2.1/6) retained most of its lead-in.
- Knight Rider (5.1 million, 1.6/4) made many question why it was given a full season order.
- America’s Next Top Model (3.9 million, 2.0/6) did the same as last week.

Wednesday Ratings: Daisies Gets a Little Push from Obama
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Games, Prime Time, Reality, Specials, Sports, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, America’s Next Top Model, Ratings,
Although Barack Obama was the most watched person over the five major networks (a combined 26.3 million watched him on CBS, FOX and NBC), Game 5 of the World Series was the most-watched event on one network last night. And while it still lagged behind the political infomercial, Pushing Daisies did get a nice bump from bored voters.
8pm
- Approximately 9.8 million watched Barack Obama on NBC (3.0/8 in 18-49).
- CBS (2.3/6) took in 8.6 million for the political spot.
- FOX had 7.9 million (2.8/8) watching the infomercial on its network.
- The New Adventures of Old Christine (7.6 million, 2.2/6) lost 400,000.
- Pushing Daisies (6.8 million, 2.2/6) rose by 1.1 million.
- America’s Next Top Model (3.9 million, 2.0/6) was off by 500,000.

- My Own Worst Enemy (NBC, 10pm): “Edward’s trip to Mexico to gain intel on Russian weaponry doesn’t go as planned.” Nothing about this show is going as planned.

Although the Philadelphia Phillies and the Tampa Bay Rays saw smaller numbers than last year’s matchup, Game 1 of the World Series still hit a home run. Last night’s kickoff gave FOX wins in both the viewers and the demos.
8pm
- Approximately 14.6 million watched the Phillies go 1-0 in the World Series (4.8/13 in 18-49).
- The New Adventures of Old Christine (8 million, 2.4/7) picked up 300,000; Gary Unmarried (7.8 million, 2.5/7) did about the same.
- Knight Rider (7.2 million, 2.2/6) had a 400,000 skid.
- Pushing Daisies (5.7 million, 1.9/5) pushed 600,000 away.
- America’s Next Top Model (4.4 million, 2.1/6) was up 1.4 million over the recap show.

Wednesday Ratings: ABC Premieres Start Weak
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, Ratings,
ABC’s Wednesday lineup - a victim of last year’s writers strike - had a large hurdle to overcome last night. Unfortunately, the viewers were not where the Alphabet network left them. The audiences (along with the demos) were all over at CBS.
8pm
- Bones (9.8 million, 3.1/9 in 18-49) tacked on another 200,000.
- Knight Rider (7.6 million, 2.4/7) got 300,000 more revved up.
- The New Adventures of Old Christine (6.9 million, 2.0/6) and Gary Unmarried (7 million, 2.2/6) were both up 200,000.
- Pushing Daisies (6.3 million, 2.0/6) was off 55% from this point last year.
- America’s Next Top Model (4 million, 1.8/5) was down a notch.

MONDAY (9/29)
- Chuck (NBC, 8pm): Season 2 premiere. “Chuck mixes it up with a formidable operative (Michael Clarke Duncan) out to obtain a device that would potentially give rise to a new Intersect.” Thankfully, he knows a girl from Wienerlicious who can take the big guy down.
- Heroes (NBC, 9pm): “Peter looks to the past to stop the future.” Is going back to Season Two an option?
- 100 Greatest Hip Hop Songs (VH1, 9pm): “A five-part countdown of the Top 100 hip hop songs.” Because when I think hip hop, I think VH1.
- Life (NBC, 10pm): Season 2 premiere. “Crews and Reese track a serial killer who’s placing victims in numbered trunks around the city.” Ooh—I love scavenger hunts!

Get Caught Up with a Dirty Sexy Money Marathon
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Cable, News,
If I haven’t already made it clear, let me say it now: I love SOAPnet. When I first discovered the guilty pleasure during a trip Florida, I was absolutely ecstatic. It was like discovering a lost love. The O.C.? Dallas? Melrose Place? Unfortunately, I was forced to wait until the channel was picked up in Seattle before I could be reunited with my newfound friend again.
Since that time, the channel has provided me a wealth of entertainment during program-lacking hours. Just this past Labor Day weekend, I caught myself getting sucked into a Beverly Hills, 90210 marathon. Now I’ve got to get my DVR prepared once again.
Later this month, those of you lucky enough to have SOAPnet in your area can catch up with the lives of the Darlings. The network with great taste will now be devoting 10 hours of programming to Dirty Sexy Money. If you like your soap operas, then this ABC drama is the one for you. Spoiled fraternal twins, politicians sleeping with transsexuals, immoral reverends with secret children - you name it, the series has it.
The Dirty marathon airs from 9am to 7pm on Saturday, September 27. Season 2 will then officially kick off four days later on Wednesday, October 1.
